Trandes Corporation is seeking an Air Traffic Control Systems Maintenance Technician who is experienced in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of any one of the following Precision Approach Radar (PAR) systems: • AN/FPN-63 • AN/FPN-62 • AN/MPN-14 • AN/MPN-25
• AN/MPN-26 • PAR 2000 • TPN-22 • TPN-31 Although this position is home-based in San Diego, California supporting the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN PACIFIC) which is a Navy/Marine Corps engineering center with oversight of the repair,
maintenance, overhaul and restoration of Navy and Marine Corps air traffic control landing systems and navigational aids, up to 50% of the work performance involves travel.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Conducting technical support services necessary to tune, align, test, groom, restore, overhaul and otherwise maintain PAR systems and associated peripheral systems and equipment. • Conducting technical
assistance in the analysis and resolution of deficiencies of PAR systems and peripheral systems and equipment which may interface with, or impact upon the function and serviceability of the PAR system Such assistance shall include: • Diagnosis and troubleshooting
to identify equipment discrepancies. • Replacement of defective components and/or repair as necessary to restore the PAR system to full operational status. • Tune/align the PAR system for optimum performance in accordance with applicable maintenance standards
requirements. • Performance of systems operation and verification testing (SOVT); measure and verify system performance in accordance with applicable maintenance standards requirements. • Verify proper system operation in conjunction with a flight inspection.
• Conducting in-briefings with on-site/airfield representatives to convey planned work and out-briefings to convey completed work and recommended actions. • Preparing written trip reports citing daily activities, any equipment discrepancies noted and corrective
action taken, any recommendations offered, follow-up action required and activity responsible, and key personnel contacted. • Reviewing, interpreting and evaluating technical documents such as those listed below relating to the installation, troubleshooting,
repair and overhaul of electronic systems: • Base Electronic Systems Engineering Plan (BESEP) • Technical Manual (TM) • Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) • Technical Directive (TD) • Field Change Bulletin (FCB) • Maintenance Index Page (MIP) • Maintenance
Requirements Card (MRC) • Technical Feedback Report (TFBR) • Technical Manual Deficiency Report (TMDR) • Test Procedure (TP) • Test Problem Report (TPR)
This individual shall possess: • Five (5) years recent, relevant experience associated with installation, maintenance and operation of PAR systems. • Experience with specifications and standards governing the conduct of preventive and corrective maintenance
of PAR systems to ensure “safety of flight” requirements are met. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with in-service engineering activity program managers, on-site field technicians and operational personnel as well
as company engineers, technicians and logisticians. • Excellent writing ability to properly convey work accomplished and associated technical data in written reports. • Ability to travel to perform on-site PAR system overhaul/restoration, installation and
technical assistance at airfields world-wide.
